Apeiron-Team supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Apeiron was founded to create a positive impact in this world towards human health and environment. Apeiron’s current business drives sustainability in different ways. We focus on the safe use of chemicals and biocides throughout their entire supply chain, i.e. from manufacturing, to downstream use, to consumers, to waste and recycle. We drive improvements in minimization of exposure and emissions and we support companies in developing circular business flows.

In terms of today’s EU Green Deal, Apeiron’s services focus on the goals of:

  • A zero pollution ambition for a toxic-free environment: sustainable chemistry & materials,
  • Mobilising industry for a clean and circular economy: reduction of use of virgin resources.

On September 25th 2015 the 17 UN sustainability goals were decided. While the goals are set in the first place for governments, companies can play a crucial role in realising these goals.

Ambition Statement:

  • Business Operations: We support safe chemical use, minimize emissions, and promote recycling to reduce resource use and pollution.
  • Corporate Culture: We foster collaboration, continuous learning, and growth, ensuring our practices reflect our sustainability commitment.
  • Social Responsibility: We engage in community initiatives and partnerships, promoting sustainable solutions and strong stakeholder relationships.

Our Goals

Reduce illnesses and death from hazardous chemicals and pollution (UN target 3.9).

Alternatives Assessment to identify more sustainableproducts and technologies. Risk assessments of substances and mixtures throughout their entire supply chain, including the waste and recycle stage. Enable safe use of chemicals & biocides in the entire supply chain, minimizing adverse effects to workers, general population & the environment.

Responsible management of chemicals and waste (UN target 12.4).

Apeiron drives sustainable chemicals management to create value for business and society. The result is significant reduction of releases to air, water and soil in order to minimize their adverse impacts on human health and the environment.
Substantially reduce waste generation (UN target 12.5)
Circular economy projects, such as recycle of food packaging and recycle & valorization of industrial waste streams

Improve water quality, wastewater treatment and safe reuse (UN target 6.3)

Reduction of pollution of surface water by minimization & elimination of emissions of hazardous chemicals (e.g. endocrine disruptors). Assessment of best technologies for waste water treatment and creating options for reuse. Assessment of bio-degradability bio-accumulation & toxicity of substances in water & potential for long range transport.

Reduce marine pollution (target 14.1)

Reduction of pollution of marine water by minimization & elimination of emissions of hazardous chemicals. Plastic waste recycling projects. Promote industry to avoid the intentional use of microplastics.

Conserve and restore terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems (target 15.1)

Reduction of pollution of soil and sediment by minimization & elimination of emissions of hazardous chemicals. Assessment of bio-degradability, bio-accumulation and toxicity of substances in sediment and soil.

Education for sustainable development and global citizenship (UN target 4.7)

We strongly believe in training of our children – the future leaders – in sustainable solutions and lifestyles. Apeiron provides training and workshops in schools, universities, for authorities and industry.

Encourage effective partnerships (target 17.17)

Apeiron stands for long term relationships with all stakeholders. We build bridges between industry, authorities, academia and NGOs. We are consulted by authorities
on practicality and effectiveness of regulations. Together we can make it happen!
